All 26 conservatory and 6 Tech Team spots are full! We are excited to have such an enthusiastic and supportive community. We are excited to announce that this year’s production will be Young Sherlock by Craig Sodaro.
Take a trip back in time to when young Sherlock Holmes was a student at Butterworth Academy. Two girls are kidnapped from the school, and John Watson hopes his friend and classmate will be able to solve his first crime. Despite a psychic, Madame Lulu, appearing on the scene and guaranteeing to find the students, the bumbling, inept Constable Bing begins his own investigation. When the psychic suddenly finds the girls after the parents have paid the large fee demanded in the mysterious ransom note, Sherlock is suspicious. He sets a trap to snare the criminal, launching his career as a great detective who can solve crimes even before the police can.
Performances are July 19 & 20 at the Princess Theatre in Prosser, WA.
Scholarship Auditions are for Everyone ages 8-14
The Prosser Conservatory of Theatre for Children (PCTC) is excited to announce auditions for tuition scholarships to this summer’s theatre camp, which will run from July 8-19th. This is an audition for a free tuition waiver worth $125, not an audition to get into the play. Every Summer Conservatory participant will receive a part in the play “Young Sherlock.”
Auditions are on May 14 at 6 p.m. at the Princess Theatre in Prosser. Doors open at 5:45 since there will be a little bit of paperwork. Participants must be 8-14 years old and provide a 1-2 minute monologue or reading. Ideas for audition performances include monologues, a poem (Shel Silverstein, for example), and portions of Dr. Seuss books. The judges will be looking for effort put into the audition, word emphasis, projection, attitude, and ability to take direction. Memorization is preferred, but not required.
Even if you plan on paying for your kid’s tuition and you don’t want to take the scholarship away from someone who is financially in need, you can opt out. But we still want to have your child come audition just for the experience. There’s a lot you can learn from auditions, and we tend to have fun! Help your kiddos get over some of their fear of speaking in front of others, or if they’re shy about speaking up we can help.

Everyone loves comic book superheroes, so audiences will love this action-packed spoof of the comic book genre complete with hysterical singing superheroes and dancing villains. Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz wants nothing more than to become a comic book artist and create heroes and villains for the comic books he loves so much. As the janitor at Wonder Comics, he anxiously awaits the day that his boss, D.C. Wunderman, will see his drawings and give him the chance to have his superheroes come alive on the printed page. Stanley’s heroes come alive, all right — but not on the printed page! In an effort to revive his faltering company, Wunderman had ordered a set of magical pens guaranteed to bring to life any character drawn. When plans go awry and his staff of artists unwittingly create the dreaded super-villain Doctor Shock Clock, it is up to Stanley to save the day with his own superheroes!
